The Corona pandemic showed us again how important medical products are to save lives. Since those products are often used in stressful situations, they need to be easy and intuitive to use. As part of the user interface of a medical product, also the information for use need to be written user friendly. Usability engineering can be the key for increasing user satisfaction and patient safety.

Biografie
Torsten Gruchmann, Studium der Physikalischen Technik. Mitarbeiter der FH Münster bis 2001. Gründer der Use-Lab GmbH, ein Beratungsunternehmen für Medizinproduktehersteller für Usability Engineering und UI-Design. Mitarbeiter im nationalen und internationalen Human Factors Komitee für Medizinprodukte. Seit 2014 vertritt er die Medizintechnik im tekom-Beirat Recht und Normen.
Torsten Gruchmann studied physical engineering. He worked at Münster University of Applied Sciences until 2001. He founded Use-Lab GmbH, a consulting firm for medical device manufacturers specializing in usability engineering and UI design. He is a member of the national and international Human Factors Committee for Medical Devices. Since 2014, he has represented medical technology on the tekom Advisory Board for Law and Standards.
