Creating career-related documentation is not only some of the most important content you will create – after all, it is how you present your professional self to the world – but it is also some of the most challenging content to create. You need to stand out in a global industry and advocate for yourself while highlighting different skill sets for different jobs or phases in your career. Particularly for people in the job market, this presents high cognitive load and decision fatigue as they create cover letters and resumes for the roles they are applying for. This presentation explores using Gen AI (advanced large language models) to efficiently develop effective career documentation. First we’ll look at how all of the documents relate to each other, then at how Gen AI can make the progress through them easier and, finally, we’ll practice using Gen AI to generate LinkedIn “About” sections, cover pages, an objective section, and a professional biography, and even assist in tailoring resumes. Bring your laptops, phones, and resumes, as this session will be hands-on. I will walk through examples of the skills, and attendees are encouraged to practice with their own documents and job postings to come out of the session with at least a first draft of their career documents.
