Moving from many termbases in various systems to comprehensive terminology management, Konecranes is leaping towards a common Corporate Language with its new terminology management and authoring assistance tools introduced at the same time. We will show you how we were able to implement this terminology process makeover without interrupting ongoing content production, and the opportunities and challenges we have met and mastered on our journey.

Biografie
Jenny Seidel ist Terminologin und Sprachprozessberaterin bei der berns language consulting GmbH (blc). Ihr Studium hat sie 2014 an der TH Köln als Fachübersetzerin abgeschlossen. Ihre Aufgaben bei blc sind die Betreuung von Großkunden im Bereich Terminologiemanagement und Prozessberatung. Der Fokus liegt dabei auf nachhaltiger Optimierung der Sprachprozesse im Unternehmen durch qualitativ hochwertiges Terminologiemanagement und durch den Einsatz geeigneter Terminologiesysteme. In verschiedenen Kundenprojekten berät sie bei der Prozess- und Systemauswahl, übernimmt die Terminologieverwaltung und prüft die korrekte Terminologieverwendung im Rahmen der Sprachqualitätssicherung. Weiterhin hält Jenny Seidel regelmäßig Vorträge auf Fachveranstaltungen und verfasst Beiträge für Fachzeitschriften.
Jenny Seidel is a terminologist and language process consultant at berns language consulting GmbH (blc). She completed her studies as a technical translator at the TH Köln in 2014. At blc, she supports major customers in the field of terminology management and process consulting. She focuses on sustainable optimisation of language processes in the company through high-quality terminology management and the use of suitable terminology systems. In various customer projects, she helps to select processes and systems, takes over terminology management and checks the correct use of terminology in the context of language quality assurance. Jenny Seidel also regularly gives lectures at specialists events and writes articles for professional journals.

Noelani Walker-Koser is the tool and process owner for terminology and controlled language at Konecranes. Through her various roles in translation departments for more than 35 years, she has been an integral part of the company’s technical documentation teams, acquired a deep knowledge of specialist and corporate language, hands-on experience with different CAT tools and related terminology management systems as well as language quality assurance tools and processes. She is passionate about language technology, terminology and standardization of language to improve clarity and findability.
