Illustration, just aesthetics or could it even be the main information carrier?
The cost for translation is a major expense when creating Service information in a global market. Illustration as the base for the information will lower this cost dramatically!
This is a great selling point, but there are many other areas than product information, that can benefit from illustration-based information!
I will show you some examples of traditional service information made illustration-based, some quick-guides, but also examples from areas where text is always the dominant part, and it do not need to be.

Biografie

Ulf Lanekoff works as a Senior technical illustrator at Etteplan in Uppsala. He has been doing this for more than 20 years now. His mission is to explain complex situations and problems with explanatory illustrations and in best case, remove all text. He is also an Artist that is working on drawings, paintings, architectural illustrations, ironwork, woodwork and sculptures on my spare time.
